United Aerospace Maintenance Company (UAMCO) Ltd Announces Strategic Agreement with Safran Test Cells - A Major Global Milestone
United Aerospace Maintenance Company (UAMCO) Ltd has awarded Safran 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀, a subsidiary of Safran Aero Boosters, the contract for a new LEAP engine Test Cell based in Larnaca, Cyprus.
We are proud to announce that Mr. John Savvides, CEO of United Aerospace Maintenance Company (UAMCO) Ltd, together with Mr. François Lepot, CEO of Safran Aero Boosters, and 𝗠𝘀. Mélanie Pommier, Senior VP, Safran Test Cells, have officially signed an agreement marking a groundbreaking achievement in our company’s history and for the global MRO sector.
With this agreement, 𝗨𝗔𝗠𝗖𝗢 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗥𝗢 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗣-𝟭𝗔 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗣-𝟭𝗕 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, powered by 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿™ technology and equipped with the latest Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems for seamless engine handling. This will also be the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗥𝗢 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗙𝗠 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗣 𝗠𝗥𝗢 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Our upcoming Test Cell represents a new benchmark in aerospace maintenance innovation:
• A 9-meter facility exclusively designed for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engine testing• Powered by 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿™ technology and supported by advanced AGV systems• A minimum capacity of 250 engine test per year, reinforcing speed, reliability, and operational efficiency• The 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 capable of running both Jet A-1 and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
Construction is now underway, with completion expected by December 2026 and full commissioning by CFM International (CFM) in the first quarter of 2027.
